Mission, Values, Motto, and Vision Statement

Mission

We, as one, aim to cultivate innovative and compassionate leaders and professionals for the purpose of betterment of their community, their country, and the world.

The Three Characteristics of CHU:

-       Sunshine Youth Holistic Education (Character and Moral Education): CHU emphasizes five guidelines for students to cultivate on campus in order to develop “sunshine youth”:

1) strong and healthy body

2) sound personality

3) enthusiasm for knowledge and wisdom

4) service inclination

5) and artistic tastes

CHU utilizes these five guidelines as the core, combined with the design of our curriculum and extracurricular activities, to nurture students to become positive, balanced, and well-developed sunny youths.

-       Innovation and Creativity: Innovation and creativity are fundamental skills to all academic disciplines and educational activities. Our school promotes innovation and creativity education through an inaugural creativity and innovation course that uses a combination of individual and group projects to develop creative problem-solving strategies. Our goal is to enable students to discover their unique creative and innovative nature, apply their imagination to generating ideas, questions and hypotheses, experimenting with alternatives and to evaluate their own and their peers’ ideas, final products and processes.

-       Promoting Cross-Field Learning: To meet the needs of the evolving 21st-century workplace, current trends in higher education focus on training students in interdisciplinary or interprofessional education through fostering collaborative experiences in programs from different fields and professions. To identify key learning opportunities, CHU established partnerships and share our curriculum to promote improved student engagement through interdisciplinary education. Furthermore, to strengthen the employment competitiveness of students, we promote cross-field learning, by cooperating with enterprises to organize cross-field employment courses, cross-academic experience micro-credits, and studying the 9-credits of Inter-departmental courses to cultivate students' second expertise.

Motto: Diligence, Simplicity, Honesty, and Integrity

CHU has been characterized by its distinctive combination of the motto.

Our moral education refers to the way a school helps its students learn virtues or moral habits that will make them better people outside of the four walls of their classroom, and be respected and accepted in society.

Dual Orientation of High-Quality Teaching and Industry-University Linkage

"Quality Teaching" is to enhance students' learning motivation, strengthen foreign language ability and international vision, and enhance students' employment advantages; "Industry-University Link" focuses on expanding students' corporate internships and obtaining professional licenses, and trains them through teacher teaching and course learning talents with workplace competitiveness, at the same time, promote close cooperation between teachers and industries to strengthen the efficiency of industry-university cooperation.

Vision: We are committed to creating and sustaining the conditions that enable all CHU students to experience an unparalleled educational journey that is intellectually, socially, and personally transformative.
